Windows Vista and Vista TN3270

About a year ago when I first heard the Microsoft was going to name their operating system "Vista", of course I was concerned. Would they make me change the name of my software? Would there be confusion? Should I talk to them about the problems this might cause?

One of the reasons I chose the name for my own software back in 1997, was because after looking around on the internet I noticed dozens of products named Vista. I assumed that because it was so common, no single entity could ever come to me and complain I stole the name - otherwise they should also go to all the other folks using it. That logic has actually worked out well for me, and I would bet Microsoft considered the same things when they chose the name.

Oh well... it's been over a year already, and Bill hasn't contacted me to "buy me out" with a truckload of money, as I had hoped :) So to avoid confusion, I'm going to try to remember to use the following names in all correspondence:

Vista TN3270

My program

Windows Vista Microsoft's Operating System

Other than that, I assume we can both live together peacefully. If we can't, I know who has to change their name :)
